The Transformative Experience That Reinforced My Faith in Intuition

Chapter 1: A Journey of Discovery
Around 15 years ago, I found myself at a seminar dedicated to exploring the concept of intuition. Having had several inexplicable experiences that hinted at a higher power, I was naturally attracted to such gatherings, especially since this one was free—something I’ve always appreciated.
The seminar leader frequently discussed the concept known as The Hero’s Journey, a framework introduced by Joseph Campbell. This idea captures the narrative arc that many writers use, highlighting the common threads in the journeys of their protagonists.

As a film enthusiast, the teacher referenced various movies that exemplified the Hero’s Journey, including classics like Star Wars, Harry Potter, and The Matrix. He employed these films to emphasize the importance of trusting our instincts and harnessing our intuition.
On the second day, we were divided into triads to engage in an intuitive exercise. Two of us would close our eyes and concentrate on the third member, after which we would open our eyes to share our perceptions about that person.

When it was my turn, one participant expressed something that left me in awe. He opened his eyes and shared: (Disclaimer: This is a paraphrase from nearly 15 years ago, but I recall the essence and a vital part of what he said.) “You possess immense potential, yet something is hindering you. It’s as if you’re situated in a field of… of... dreams. You’re surrounded by them but remain stuck in one spot.”
His insight was strikingly accurate, but the phrase “this field of… of… dreams” particularly resonated with me. Why? Because "Field of Dreams" is my all-time favorite film, which tells the tale of a farmer who hears a voice urging him to construct a baseball field amidst his crops.

It sounds insane! Financially reckless! The bank is pressing for payment! Foreclosure looms! Yet, he chooses to heed that voice and trust his intuition. Without giving too much away, the ending is nothing short of magical.
Although the instructor referenced numerous films throughout the seminar, he never mentioned this one. It lingered in my mind as he spoke, and I anticipated its mention, but it never came—until another student brought it up while tuning into me. Incredible!

When I shared my astonishment at his choice of words, he only vaguely remembered the film, which debuted in 1989. Clearly, it hadn’t left the same impression on him as it did on me, yet he decided to revisit it.
This experience solidified my belief in intuition. It has encouraged me to cultivate my intuitive skills through meditation and by being increasingly aware of signs, coincidences, and synchronicities. The signals you receive when you genuinely pay attention can be astonishing.
What about you? Have you had a moment that reinforced your belief in the power of intuition? I would love to hear about it!
The insights from this seminar were influenced by the teachings of William Whitecloud. I have no connections or affiliations with him, nor do I benefit from any links provided. They are simply there for those interested in exploring further.
