Whitley’s desperate cries echoed through the house, reaching her parents, Troy and LaDonna French, who were peacefully sleeping downstairs. As they rushed upstairs, they were met with a horrifying scene: the masked man now brandished a gun. In a tragic turn of events, he shot both parents before fleeing the scene.

In the wake of this horrifying incident, Whitley made an urgent 911 call, but despite her efforts, her parents succumbed to their injuries. With no witnesses and limited evidence, the case seemed destined to remain unsolved.
