This interaction initiates a series of molecular events that ultimately lead to the destruction of the infected cell.

La Gruta noted, “The challenge lies in the fact that the human body contains millions of distinct T cell receptors alongside a wide variety of viruses, complicating our understanding of how T cell receptor recognition influences T cell activation. This issue has been a topic of debate for over 25 years.”
